Research into the Green Belt

A researcher at Northumbria University is conducting a survey researching the wider benefits of Green Belts in the North-East and is keen to hear for local residents.

The Green Belt is a policy which aims to protect the areas around our towns and cities from development.

However, we know very little about how these Green Belt open spaces are used by people in the North-East and the potential benefits it provides.

Where do you go in the Green Belt? Why do you go there? And what makes these places special or important to you? What barriers are there to its wider use? This survey will allow you to tell us using interactive maps!

This survey is part of a wider research project investigating what ecological and environmental benefits green belts provide to people. Click here to find out more information or click the link to take part in the survey http://mpt.link/greenbeltsurvey

We are interested in the full spectrum of uses and perceptions of the Green Belt from people all across the North-East.
